Dear Resident, We are writing to share a short update about some modifications to Neighbourhood Alert which powers Neighbourhood Alert messaging, these updates are related to future email layout and the services they link to. Who we are Email and system updates: From next Wednesday, emails sent via Neighbourhood Alert will more clearly show the organisation that sent the message. Currently, the “From” name reflects the website you joined (Neighbourhood Alert). Following feedback in our national survey, we will update this so you can instantly see whether a message is from your local Police, Neighbourhood Watch, Report Fraud, Fire and Rescue, or in some areas, your local authority or OPCC. This will help avoid confusion and ensure you remain alert to and in control of what you receive. You can now choose to receive police notifications for additional locations anywhere in the UK, not just where you live. This allows you to stay informed about places that matter to you, such as where close family live, where you work, or a second home or holiday location. The Alert platform is used by national and 38 local police services meaning you can receive trusted local updates even when those locations fall under a different police force. You remain fully in control and can add or remove locations at any time by logging in to your account, which you can do from https://members.neighbourhoodalert.co.uk. Please be aware that, due to increased secure processes, you will need to request a link and then verify it's you with a pin before accessing this page (sorry but security comes first). We are making some minor wording updates to the “Your Neighbourhood Alert account” section that appears below each Alert email so that it displays better on mobile phones. In most force areas, the “Area Insights” link below lets you view a page dedicated to your local neighbourhood policing team. You can see who is on your team, local policing priorities, upcoming engagements, and in many areas, what your community has identified as local issues. You can also contribute your views privately and securely, and view messages relevant to your area. Next week, the link name will simply change from “Area Insights” to “My Area”. Please feel free to try the Insights link now and see what's on your page. Thank you for your feedback
Finally, please participate on this and future messages by taking a few seconds to rate your messages (the green thumbs up button below). Your feedback is genuinely valued, highly motivational for officers, and helps improve how the system is used. You will see a summary of other feedback as soon as you have given yours, try it sometime.
Thank you again for your continued support. This service is designed with input from citizens and volunteers, in close collaboration with police forces, with the aim of keeping you safe, informed, and listened to. At a time when fraud, online scams, and false information remain key national concerns, trusted local updates and clear communication from policing are more important than ever.
Kind regards, | ||
